How to Import PST to Gmail

Is import PST to gmail a great option for you? Some Gmail users want to be able to sync their PST data files directly into their account. They would like to be able to import the same email they have in PST onto their account. Since many Gmail users already have such accounts, this would be a convenient way for them to continue using the same account but with the added functionality of being able to import their existing email data into their new account.

When Google launched the latest version of its popular search engine, Google pst files were quickly buried in the abyss. Only the most hardcore of gmail users were able to open and view these. Even those who had access still had a hard time locating the path to the folder. This was unfortunate because it meant that those who were regularly using their gmail account needed to spend a lot of time digging through their existing email folders just to find the gmail import settings. To fix this issue, Google introduced two steps to make importing PST Migration Tool easier for everyone.

The first step is the use of the Google interface to create a new Import PST to Gmail account. By clicking on the gear menu at the top of the page, you will see that the imported data will be imported into your Gmail account. You will then be able to see all of the items right away. It is important to take a moment and review each of the data items, especially the ones you do not recognize or want to remove from your account. By double clicking on the title of the item, you will be taken to the properties portion of the imported data item.

The second step is to find and use the Google interface to import the PST file. Once you have located the imported PST file, click on the small globe icon next to the address bar at the top of your browser. This will take you to the imported data page. On the page, you will need to click on the "Open" button. Once you have done so, you will be asked to fill in all the required information about the PST you wish to import. The name, subject line, body, and date are the only optional items you will need to enter.

After you have completed the step previously mentioned, you will immediately see the imported PST downloaded to your local computer. The next step is the creation of a Gmail account. Once you have completed these steps, your imported PST file will be available for use in your Gmail account. There is no limit as to how many emails you can import into your account; however, if your local file size is larger than approximately 10 MB, you may not be able to open all of them without slowing down your email client.

The final step involves the actual uploading of your imported PST file to your Gmail account. To do this, you will again click on the "Open" button. In the drop down menu, you will see that there is an option for importing a PST file. If it is the default option, choose the imported PST option.

The last step is the actual creation of a new Gmail account. Once you have done so, you will click on the Gmail button on the top right corner of the page. In the left pane of the page, you will see a section labeled "Google." Select the Google tab and fill in the necessary information. Once you have done so, click on the "Create Account" link that is visible below the Google button.

The third and final step involved in the process of importing PST files to your Gmail is the creation of a new Outlook Express account. The instructions provided are specific with respect to importing PST files to your Outlook Express email client. If you attempt to use the steps outlined here, you may encounter problems with your current outlook account. It is best to refer to the documentation provided by Microsoft for this task.
